The Situation: Handling New Expectations
Bill recently became a Executive Vice President. When taking this new role, expectations were set with the Executive Vice President, responsibilities and deliverables. Since taking on the new role, additional deliverables were added and budgets were cut. Bill has been back and forth with the leader. How can he navigate this without putting his job at risk?
The Solution/Action Plan:
Bill has been negotiating with other stake holders on meeting goals without an increase of funds. If he still needs more staff to deliver the new expectations. He will have a conversation with the leader for additional support. Bill will have discussions with the leader on alternatives to meet goals for his group.
The Outcome:
Bill has been able to resolve issues regarding funds. Mainly discuss with the leader he understands the responsibilities are changing because of new management. He wants the leader to know his role is to ensure the group is successful.
