Question:
We received holiday parties invitations marked “Dressy Casual”? What does that mean? what do you wear?
Answer:
Dressy casual can be a suit for men with an open shirt, no tie or a dressy shirt without a jacket, and no running shoes. For women, it can be a dress (not formal or yoga wear) or a combination dressy top with pants or skirts. Accessories will make the statement beyond casual. Note, location makes a big difference. At a private home, you can dress more casually but at a major hotel in a city you will want to spruce it up a bit.
