The Situation:What I have learned in 2018
This year, clients have taught me to pay attention to the unsaid, be focused on their goals, understand their fears and believe there is always an outcome. Situations I was involved in included career changes, promotions, and reorganization challenges. Personal lives were impacted whether brought in by the client or the organization. 2018 was also a professional advancement in preparing for a re-credentialing of my International Coaching Federation ACC. It gave me an opportunity to listen and learn from US and International coaches and use that knowledge to better help my clients.
The Solution:
Being an advisor and a coach helps clients determine for themselves the best solution for the challenge. It is good to turn a challenge into an opportunity for professional and personal growth. I also gave them safe harbor to discuss the positive and negatives of each situation.
The Outcome:
Each client had their won and loss situations and recovery was always key to considering alternative solutions. We had promotions, new organizational changes, and major direction changes. Always learning from the client’s point of view and being able to offer another viewpoint provided growth for me as an advisor and coach.
