The Situation: Dealing with Ants (Any negative thoughts)
Jennifer has been with the group more than five years as an analyst. She produced some important findings helping her team achieve significant successes. The leaders would like to move her into a senior level position. What holds Jennifer back are her constant negative thoughts that tend to erode her confidence.
The Action Plan:
Jennifer wants to examine the physical triggers that start her negative thinking. She began keeping a log. Now, she needs to accept that if she makes a mistake, she needs to learn from it. It is the constant reinforcement that will make Jennifer more aware of ways to break “the ants”.
The Outcome:
Jennifer interviewed for the new senior position, which in her previous life she would not have even attempted done for fear of rejection. She continues to deal head on with “the ants” and senior leaders offered her the new job!
