May Tips For Communication & Image Success
Tip for Organizations:
Question:
Our organization is going through a major reorganization and some members of our group may lose their jobs. How can we prepare them for the future either in or outside of the company?
Answer:
To best assist your group, encourage them to update their resumes. Give them opportunities to network within the company with those that may have needs for their skills. Most of all, help them to maintain a positive attitude.
Communication Question:
Question: How can I begin to prepare for face to face interviews either live or on Skype or FaceTime?
Answer:
First, practice, practice and more practice. Secondly, make video tapes of your mock interview to review. Then, act like a consultant and ask yourself, is the person on the video professional? Is his / her opening interview comments (what you say about yourself) crisp and content driven? Remember, that if you use Skype or FaceTime, the relay time is slower. That means you need to control your pace by slowing down when answering questions and allowing time for the interviewer to respond.
Presence Question:
Question:
I have a challenging time getting ready for work in the morning. I always seem to be in a panic when selecting the appropriate clothing. How can I be more organized?
Answer:
I recommend that before the week begins, Sunday evening perhaps, put your clothing choices for the week on a rolling clothing rack. Then, use guidelines for your weekly activities to sort the items on the clothing rack. Include shoes, hose and all accessories (jewelry and necklaces for women and ties for the men).
