The Situation: Impromptu conversation
Jane is the CEO of a highly visible organization. She is always asked to speak about company activities at the last minute but she tends to ramble a bit without getting to the point. We need her to be more succinct while keeping the attention of the audience.
The Solution:
We began slowly by having her speak impromptu about different subjects. Afterwards, we studied the outcome by reviewing the purpose of the talk, asking if it created a strong awareness of the subject, checking whether she resonated with listeners and examining if anything could have been said better. We did this for about a year.
The Outcome:
I was driving in the car when, on the radio, I heard Jane being interviewed about the current work of her organization. She spoke with impact and to the point with perfect inflection. The organization taped the conversation and it is now on their website.
