Prepare with a plan of action that has them itemize their strengths and begin to look at areas in the business they would best fit into. Secondly, start practicing their interviewing skills. Finally, prevent negative talk by keeping the chatter down.

When I begin a presentation and my voice crackles and gets raspy. How can I control my nervousness?
Answer:
Warm up before you speak by talking to yourself out loud in the bathroom. Drink warm water with lemon. Never drink anything cold because it will cause your voice to tighten up and lose sound. Taking deep breaths to release tension will also help.

Why is it important that everything has to be wrinkle free? My clothes, especially shirts, never seem to stay fresh and pressed.
Answer:
A wrinkle free presence shows confidence and command of any situation. Wrinkles in clothing project a message of carelessness and show a neglect of details. Not everyone can afford to have their shirts and blouses professionally cleaned. I recommend all items get pressed before being put back in the closet. Another tip is having a Jiffy Steamer which works well for knits.

Answer:
It is not a good practice to discuss critical issues at a business social event. It is appropriate, however, to ask if you can set up a meeting in the office during the day. If asked about what the issue is, you can say, “I would like to give you some insight on the challenges we are facing”.
