Tip for Organizations:
Question:
How can we coach several members of our team who are very passive-aggressive individuals? They accept no responsibility for their actions and they have created unrest by not acknowledging there are problems with the team.
Answer:
Passive-aggressive people are damaging to relationships in all situations, personal and professional. They act as if nothing is wrong and others are responsible for the problems. They do it in such a subtle way that you begin to feel you are the issue!
One suggestion is to have this group together or one by one (your decision) begin to ask pointed questions about one or two critical situations and how they would be best handled by the passive-aggressive individuals and the team. Then, monitor the results. Depending on how critical the issues are, you can have the other team members begin to document the situations, the good, bad and ugly. You may end up having to move those individuals to another unit they might be better suited for.
Communication Question:
Question: I have been dealing with folks who are clear directors and socializers. They are always quick to comment and offer an opinion. I am a thinker and need time to review the situation, so, sometimes in a meeting when I am ready to give an opinion, it is too late.
Answer:
It is important to speak up right away. You can say that you would like to take a few minutes to think about it and then make sure you are listened to when you’re ready to speak. If possible, before a meeting ask for an agenda or find out what will be discussed. This will allow you to gather some thoughts prior to the meeting.
Presence Question:
Question: Are skinny pant legs appropriate for professional dress?
Answer: Narrow legs are appropriate for professional dress. Skinny pants work best in casual business situations. The skinny pants typically are really heavier leggings to insure they will look like pants material. (Note: If you have any hips, they will make you look very pear shaped unless you wear a jacket or top to cover them.)

Question:
I was just at an event and the person who was making the introductions did not give any background because she knew the people she was introducing. Is it important to provide backgrounds in these situations?
Answer:
If you know a bit about the person you are introducing, it is important to supply some information about him/her. This gives an opening for potential connections between the person being introduced and who s/he is being introduced to.
