Tip for Organizations:
Question:
New teams are being formed to work together in the New Year. What is a good way for folks to get to know each other before they formally meet?
Answer:
Have them set up informal one on one meetings over coffee or lunch—kind of a “let’s get to know each other” meeting.
Communication Question:
Question: I will be giving a presentation to a group of senior management staff using PowerPoint slides that were developed by the marketing department for a new initiative. What’s the best way to talk with the slides?
Answer: Give a brief summary of each slide capturing only the key words that are shown on them. Practice is very important to ensure the dialog is seamless and aligns with the slides.
Presence Question:
Question: How important is fit in a jacket versus slacks?
Answer: The one you wear the most should fit properly. Shoulders in a jacket and the crotch area of a pair slacks are most difficult to alter. I would recommend that if either of these spots need alterations, it is best to replace them.
