Answer:
Here are a few tips for you:
• Dress conservatively, meaning stay away from distracting colors.
• Keeo your posture erect.
• Prepare a written introduction about the panelists and send it to the moderator prior to the engagement. (However, have your panelists be ready with a quick overview in case they need to introduce themselves.)
• If possible, get an idea of the questions the moderator may ask.
Communication Question:
Question:
I have been asked to moderate a panel discussion. How do I prepare for this?
Answer:
Ask for a bio from each of the panelists so you can practice introductions. Send a list of questions that may be asked to the panelists so they can prepare. Most importantly, manage the timing of the questions and answers so each person has enough air time. Your role is to keep the discussion informative and balanced.
Wardrobe Question:
Question:
How should I dress and for a panel discussion?
Answer:
As suggested above, the general rule is to dress conservatively. However, ask the host of the event about the background and what people might be wearing. A jacket always has an air of authority. Glasses should have non-reflective lenses. Select jewelry that is not shiny especially if the event is being recorded.

How long should my panel discussion bio or introduction be?
Answer:
People can understand words spoken at the rate of 120 (longer words) to 180 words (shorter words) per minute (2 to 3 words per second).
